Firearms Policy
Compliance with Federal, State, and Local Laws
Viking Gun and Pawn strictly follows all federal, state, and local laws regarding the sale and transfer of firearms. We comply with all regulations set forth by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), as well as any applicable state and local firearm laws.
Who We Sell To
We sell firearms only to individuals who meet the following requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years old to purchase long guns (rifles and shotguns).
- Must be at least 21 years old to purchase handguns and lower receivers.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or legal resident with proper documentation.
- Must be able to pass a background check conducted through the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) or applicable state system.
Firearm Transfer Process
All firearm purchases are subject to the following procedures:
- Background Check: Buyers must complete ATF Form 4473 and pass a background check before any firearm is transferred.
- Waiting Period (If Applicable): Some states require a waiting period before a firearm can be transferred.
- Valid Government-Issued ID: Buyers must provide a valid, government-issued photo ID that matches the information on the ATF Form 4473.
- Residency Restrictions: Firearms can only be sold to residents of Minnesota, unless transferred through a licensed FFL in the buyer’s home state.
- Straw Purchases Prohibited: We do not allow straw purchases (buying a firearm for someone who is ineligible to purchase one).
Shipping Policy
- Firearms will only be shipped to a licensed Federal Firearms Dealer (FFL). Buyers must provide the FFL information at checkout.
- We do not ship firearms directly to individuals.
- The receiving FFL will conduct the background check and complete the transfer.
- Buyers are responsible for knowing their state and local laws regarding firearm ownership.
Prohibited Persons
Under federal law, we CANNOT sell or transfer firearms to individuals who:
- Have been convicted of a felony or domestic violence offense.
- Are under indictment for a crime punishable by more than one year in prison.
- Are under a restraining order for harassing, stalking, or threatening an intimate partner or child.
- Have been dishonorably discharged from the U.S. Armed Forces.
- Are adjudicated as mentally incompetent or committed to a mental institution.
- Are unlawful users of controlled substances, including marijuana (even in states where it is legal).
Returns & Cancellations
- All firearm sales are final. No returns or exchanges on firearms once they leave our premises.
- If a background check is denied, the order will be canceled, and a restocking fee may apply.
- If the receiving FFL refuses the transfer due to state/local restrictions, the buyer is responsible for return shipping costs and any associated fees.
